Travel & Lodging

The 43rd Steenbock Symposium will take place at Union South, a centrally located venue on the UW–Madison campus in Madison, Wisconsin. The symposium will be hosted in Varsity Hall II on the second floor.

A block of rooms has been reserved at Union South at a rate of $220 per night. Reservations may be made by calling 608-263-2600 and mentioning the Steenbock Seminar 2026, or by booking online at https://go.wisc.edu/hotel-steenbock-2026. The group rate is available through April 17, 2026; after this date, standard rates and availability will apply.

Bus Routes

• UW–Madison campus bus routes are fare-free for all riders. All campus bus stops with real-time pick-up information can be found on the interactive campus map. Routes 80 and 84 operate during the day, while Routes 80, 81, and 82 provide nighttime service.
• Madison Metro routes connect the UW–Madison campus with destinations throughout the city. For more information, visit the Madison Metro website or call (608) 266-4466. Before traveling, check the Madison Metro Detours page for up-to-date route changes.

Taxi Services

• Union Cab of Madison Cooperative offers taxi service and can be reached at (608) 242-2000.
• Uber and Lyft also operate throughout Madison.

Bicycle

• Madison BCycle is available throughout campus and across Madison.

Parking is available in several nearby lots:
